There are ways to help feed your family during those times when your income can't pay for what you need.

Food Stamps help you buy nutritious food for you and your family with Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card. Food Stamps can provide the boost to your budget just when you need it most.

Find out if you qualify to receive Food Stamps (SNAP).

The amount of benefits you receive from Food Stamps (SNAP) depends on your income and the size of your family.

Food Stamps can only be used to buy food from grocery stores that take the EBT Card.

You cannot use Food Stamp benefits to buy prepared food from a restaurant or to buy alcohol, tobacco, hot food, hot food products prepared to be eaten immediately, cleaning supplies, paper products or other household items. It's also illegal to sell or trade your Food Stamps to or give them to someone who's not in your family.

Individuals can receive Food Stamps (SNAP) for two years in any five year period. There is no time limit to how long a family can receive Food Stamps. You will have to reapply, or re-certify, every three to six months.
